Summit Youth Academy (The Patriot Center) is a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) located in Emmett, Idaho.
We provide services for young men aged 8-17. We are a staff-secure facility and provide care 24/7 for our clients.
About
our company
Summit Youth Academy/Patriot Center (SYA/PC) is located in Emmett Idaho. We are a licensed all-male Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) focusing through a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) lens. We are Licensed by the Idaho Department of Health and the Welfare Children’s Licensing Department. We adhere to all Idaho Administrative Procedure Act (IDAPA) codes for residential settings. We are currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and adhere to all their applicable standards. The population we currently serve are male youth ages 8 to 17.

We provide specialized support for students with diverse learning needs. Our experienced special education professionals develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans to address each student’s unique challenges and strengths, ensuring they receive the appropriate resources and support.
The Patriot Center has a cooperative agreement with the Emmett School District to provide all educational needs to the residents. Certified teachers provide our educational services on-site.

The daily schedule includes activities that are designed to encourage pro-social development in a therapeutic milieu. Our program promotes the ideals of a balanced approach with an emphasis on accountability, competency development and community protection. Individual Counseling is provided by a licensed Master’s level counselor or supervised Master’s level intern/practicum student. They provide individual counseling assisting the residents with mental health and behavioral needs.
Family Therapy is provided for those residents who need additional help outside the group process. Family counseling/mediation assists the residents and their families with mental health and behavioral needs, mediates any outstanding concerns and helps establish family rules and expectations.

When a youth discharges from the Patriot Center we provide after care by maintaining communication with the youth for 6 months after program. Clinicians are also available for consultation during this time.
